Policies and Procedures
The EMMTN facilitates the bringing together of clinicians from across different professions and specialties to share expertise and knowledge. This has resulted in the development of Network-wide agreements, policies and procedures, with examples listed below:

- Primary and Secondary Transfer SOP
- The Network operates a “send and call” system and an agreed Automatic Acceptance Policy (LINK) informs this system
- The Network has an agreed set of Major Trauma Network Management Guidelines
- These include, for example, open fracture management, massive transfusions, trauma in pregnancy, near drowning and burns.
