The Network has agreed pathways for severe traumatic brain injury, open fractures, vascular injuries, spinal cord injury, severe pelvic fractures, including urethral injury, severe chest wall injuries, imaging for adults and children, interventional radiology, specialist rehabilitation services all of which can be found in the Network document Major Trauma: Network Management Guidelines.
A Network Transfer and Repatriation Protocol is in place
During COVID-19 a two-step trauma triage tool was introduced, however the Network reverted back to the original SOP once the system returned to normal
The Network operates a “send and call” system and an agreed Automatic Acceptance Policy informs this system
