On 4th November 2026 at the Pride Park Stadium, Derby our flagship event brings together experts from across emergency medicine, surgery, pre-hospital care, rehabilitation and beyond to share knowledge, challenge thinking, and strengthen system-wide collaboration. 
From paediatric communication in trauma to human factors, maternal trauma, and mental health in critical care, our programme is designed to reflect the realities of modern trauma practice.

To submit an abstract to be in the chance of presenting on our main stage or displaying a poster, please complete the form located here
Abstract Criteria

  1. Relevance to Major Trauma:
    • The subject matter must be pertinent to major trauma, demonstrating a service improvement, research, or educational development.
    • Clearly identify the problem addressed and its significance to major trauma practice.
    • Is the poster/abstract relevant to the conference audience?
  2. Logical Progression and Coherence:
    • Include a clear justification for undertaking this project
    • The abstract should outline a clear and logical progression of the project, service development, or research.
    • Ensure coherence in presenting the background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
  3. Implications for Practice, Research, Management, and Education:
    • State the implications for practice, research, management, and/or education.
    • Results should be easily interpreted and demonstrate clear impact on major trauma.
  4. Impact and Importance:
    • Highlight the context and importance of the work.
    • Provide a concise "take-home message" that underscores the impact on major trauma.
    • Indicate the scope of impact, whether it affects one unit, multiple units, one hospital, or multiple hospitals.
    • Highlight how the project could make a meaningful difference to patients or the NHS
  5. Methods and Evaluation:
    • For research projects: Clearly state the design, subjects, setting, variables, and interventions.
    • For non-research projects: Describe the project, timeline, and data collection process.
    • Include metrics to demonstrate results, such as pre- and post-data, and use visuals like graphs and tables.
  6. Discussion and Future Directions:
    • Address lessons learned, project limitations, and implications.
    • Provide recommendations for future directions and potential improvements.
