Initially an informal arrangement between the Lead Consultants from the three Spinal Centre Hospitals (at Nottingham, Derby and Leicester) and one Partner Hospital (at Kettering) are identified as the Consultant Leads Group (CLG), this Group developed formally during the COVID-19 pandemic. The CLG met twice-weekly during the pandemic to address urgent and emerging issues impacting on spinal care and surgery. Meetings subsequently decreased in frequency, but this Group was further developed and constituted with standardised Terms of Reference and a suite of documents to its name which aimed to support spinal care during and after the pandemic.
With the arrival of secondees in Lead Roles at the Network, the name of the Group was changed to Clinical Leads, in the interests of wider inclusivity. The Group is now constituted from the three Lead Spine Consultants, Network Education Lead, Network QSI Lead and Network Manager, chaired by the Network Medical Lead.
Terms of Reference and minutes of meetings are available from the Network Manager [email protected]
Meetings are held via MS Teams and are scheduled quarterly.
